Every proposal is different and that’s exactly how it should be. Whether you arrive with a fully formed vision or no plan at all, I’m here to help you create a proposal that feels natural, personal, and effortless.
If you already know how you want the moment to unfold, I’ll make sure it’s executed seamlessly and exactly as you imagine. If you’re unsure where to begin, I’ll guide you through the possibilities and help design a proposal experience that fits your relationship. This is your day—I’m simply here to elevate it and ensure it’s even better than you envisioned.
As a proposal photographer in the Smoky Mountains, I specialize in creating experiences that extend beyond the question itself. Your session is designed to feel romantic, playful, and full of meaningful moments—so the excitement doesn’t stop once they say yes.
Behind the scenes, I handle the planning details that make everything flow smoothly. From helping you craft a convincing cover story to providing restaurant guides, timing recommendations, and clear step-by-step guidance, I help map out the day so you can stay fully present and enjoy the moment without stress.
My proposal sessions are designed to feel thoughtful and fully supported — never rushed or transactional. This isn’t just coverage of a moment; it’s a carefully planned experience built around your love story.
Every proposal session includes:
Photography coverage that begins before the proposal and continues after, allowing space for nerves, reactions, and celebration without feeling rushed
Dedicated video coverage by a video/content creator, preserving movement, sound, and emotion in a way photos alone can’t
Drone footage when conditions allow, adding a sense of place and scale to the story
A personalized keepsake from your session, thoughtfully chosen to mark the moment
Optional props and details, used intentionally to enhance the experience — never distract from
Guided planning support before the day, so you’re never guessing about location, timing, or flow
Proposal sessions begin at $600, which includes 20 professionally edited, high-resolution images with print release, with the option to add additional images or upgrades.
What makes these sessions special isn’t just what’s delivered — it’s the way the moment is handled. From preparation to execution, my role is to ensure you feel confident, supported, and fully present while everything comes together naturally.

"Where should I do it?" is usually the first question I get — and here's my honest answer: the right location depends on your goals, your personalities, and the overall vibe you're after. Every spot in these mountains shapes the experience differently, and that's the part you can't see from a list of pretty places online. You don't know how each location will limit — or open up — the experience I can give you. I do. I'll give you an example. Clingmans Dome shows up on every "best places to propose" list, and I don't recommend it. It's beautiful, but it's crowded — and I can't give you the same experience shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists that I can give you at one of my favorite overlooks, especially if you want a fun, relaxed session with your new fiancée after the proposal moment. Part of my job is telling you that before you've planned your whole moment around the wrong spot.
So here's a look at some of the places I've photographed proposals, and who each one tends to fit:
Sweeping layered-mountain views with easy roadside access, and the room to breathe that crowded landmarks can't offer. This is where I take couples who want big views and a playful, unhurried session after the yes.
Mossy forest, rushing streams, and old-growth quiet just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. For couples whose vibe is intimate and woodsy rather than wide-open vistas.
A short, gentle walk to a beautiful waterfall close to town. Easy for almost anyone, and the sound of the water creates a little privacy bubble of its own.
Standing on the Tennessee–North Carolina line with mountains rolling in every direction. Timing matters here, and that's where I come in.
Mountaintop views with a built-in celebration: after the proposal, you're already somewhere you can wander, eat, and toast. A great fit when family or a fun rest-of-the-day is part of the plan.
For couples who want a little adrenaline with their views — and yes, I know exactly where to position so the surprise stays a surprise.
Ferris wheel lights, fountains, and instant celebration. Perfect for playful love stories, or when family is hiding nearby ready to pop out.
Sometimes the right spot is your own porch at golden hour, decorated and completely private. If your partner would rather cry happy tears without an audience, this is the one. I also have established relationships with private venues across the area — I know which ones fit which kind of proposal, and working with them opens the door to upscaling the experience however far you want to take it: my 3-foot marquee MARRY ME letters, a luxury picnic setup waiting after the yes, or details designed around your story. If you have somewhere meaningful in mind, we can almost certainly make it work — and if you don't, I know exactly where to take you.
I've photographed helicopter proposals — a romantic flight over the Smokies, landing, and popping the question with the helicopter as your backdrop. If your vision leans epic, an adventure session might be exactly your speed. Let's talk.
If you don't know which of these fits you, that's completely normal — it's exactly what the planning side of my proposal sessions is for. Tell me about your partner and the moment you're imagining, and I'll match you to the location, timing, and light that make it possible. You bring the ring; I'll handle the rest.
They laughed. They danced. They flirted. They stayed wrapped up in each other the entire time. And everything else faded into the background. Smoky Mountains / Gatlinburg, Tennessee
At the end of the film, you’ll see some of the video messages Nathan recorded in the days before the proposal — a little glimpse into just how much love and anticipation led up to this moment.
One of the most powerful parts of this proposal lives beyond what you can see. Peres recorded a personal audio message for Chelsea, woven into the final video — a love letter in his own words, speaking about love, faith, grace, and the life they’re building together.
